Google has managed to purchase the world’s shortest domain name. For an undisclosed figure, it acquired g.cn, which now redirects to the Chinese version of Google search engine site.

Such short domain names are not possible to register as new, as ICANN locked them out a couple of years after registration began. A few companies managed to purchase single-letter domains before the ban was put in place: q.com is owned by Qwest, and z.com by Nissan. Unfortunately for Google, g.com is reserved by ICANN for internal use.

“Instead of allowing a click to be triggered in a broad rectangle around the text – which used to include whitespace in that area – you must now click specifically on the underlined title or the colorized URL below the snippet” says Phillip in his blog about the new Google Adsense rules.

Apparently, Phillip believes that this has been done to ‘decrease accidental clicks. This has the short-term potential of lowering your AdSense revenues, but I think it’s a good move. Not only because it’s more ethical, but also because in the long run advertisers will be more likely to pay for services that work, and accidental clicks are a kind of system bug. I’m curious how much my AdSense income will drop, I guess all those of us using AdSense will see in a day or two.”

So far, Graphic/ Flash ads haven’t been bothered by this, Google too has not given a response on this one.

Hello customers,

You are now redirected from our old website and domain name to Hosting3i.com - our new brand and new company but with same old management and business ethics.

We have decided to shift our business goal from domain name to web hosting and we thought Hosting3i would be the prefect and easy name for the new business. This doesn’t mean we are giving up our domain name business - we have over 200,000 domain name customers worldwide and we will be continuing serving them for years to come! And yes, we do have expansion plans for our domain name business. So stay tuned for more domain name services to be launched in the coming future.

From now onwards we will not only target the US-market for web hosting but also, the Asian and East Asian market like India, China, Japan, etc. Hosting3i.com has already set-up new office in India and China.

New name, new company means something new for our customers too. Yeah! we will now roll-out  hosting coupons and discounts, promo codes, bargains for our products and services on this website.

This new blog will always keep you updated with the latest news at Hosting3i. We will also have a special page for ‘coupons and offers’, another page for ‘online security’ and much more!

Our new business now includes ‘Web Design’ services that will be launched at the later stage. We are into web design from year 2003 and have decided to merge that business with Hosting3i to offer you low-cost quality web design work.

As far as your accounts with us are concerned, nothing has being changed. Even the hosting nameservers and parking nameserves remains the same.

It’s just the change in our name and brand. Hope you welcome it.
